Mobility 101

Vocational Rehabilitation Offices

Your states Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Services may pay for the cost of adaptive modifications to your vehicle and/or adaptive equipment to allow an individual with a disability to remain in or enter the workforce. Please contact your local state office or your Mobility Resource Dealer for details.

Reimbursement Programs

Up to $1,000 is available to help pay for the cost of Adaptive Van Conversions, Scooter Lifts, Wheelchair Lifts, Hand Controls, Tie Downs, Turning Automotive Seating and other adaptive equipment.

This Physicians Guide to Assessing and Counseling Older Drivers was developed by the American Medical Association in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Adaptive Driver Education (ADED)

Driver Training may be indicated with or without adaptive equipment. It is provided following successful completion of a driver evaluation. The training program must provide a vehicle that is matched to the drivers individual needs. For more information, you can visit the ADED site.
