Single Post Split-Platform

A single-post split-platform lift, such as Brauns Vangater II, employs a platform that splits or folds when stowed to allow access to the entryway where the lift is located. This clears the way for others to enter and exit the vehicle without having to deploy the lift.

The platform is 30 x 43 inches long. The single post is located toward the rear of the vehicle when mounted in the side passenger doors, allowing the front passenger more legroom as well as the ability to recline. The Braun Mini Vangater, a smaller version of the Vangater II, is designed for small children whose wheelchairs will fit into an unconverted minivan.
