To celebrate National Mobility Awareness Month in May, The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) is asking people to share stories about those that are living with disabilities that exemplify the characteristics of a hero. NMEDA, a non-profit trade organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities and assisting with driving independence, launched the contest. Four winners will win a new wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Here’s how it works. Just visit Mobility Awareness Month to submit your story. Each story will then be voted on by the public. Four heroes with the most votes, win. So while writing your story—whether it be about your own life with a disability or someone elses—make sure you do it justice.
If you’re submitting a story, get it in before May 9th.
